Completed in April 2021, this ambitious venture was carefully executed in two distinct stages to align with the client’s phased payment plan. The journey began in January 2020 with the foundation works, which spanned a focused 2.5 months, culminating in March 2020. The second phase, encompassing the critical column and slab works, was swiftly accomplished in just 23 days, showcasing our team’s efficiency and dedication. What sets this project apart is its strategic location near a river, presenting unique challenges that our engineers adeptly navigated, ensuring the structure’s longevity and stability.

The initial phase involved the construction of a robust pad foundation, essential for providing a stable base for the entire structure. Given the proximity to the river, the team employed a special chemical additive to the cement mortar, accelerating the hardening process and fortifying the foundation against potential water-related issues. The second phase focused on the vertical and horizontal structural elements, including columns, slabs, beams, and tie beams, each designed and constructed with precision to ensure the building’s integrity.

The foundation of the Harrington Heights project was a critical aspect, given the building’s location near a river. The team opted for a pad foundation, excavating a pit measuring 1m X 1m X 1.20m. This foundation was reinforced with 16mm diameter bars for the column shaft and 12mm bars for the footing, ensuring a sturdy base. To raise the foundation level by 1200mm from the existing floor level, a rubble foundation was constructed. Given the high water table, a special chemical was mixed with the cement mortar to expedite the hardening process, safeguarding the foundation against potential water damage.The tie beams, measuring 300mm X 225mm, were reinforced with 16mm diameter bars and bound with 6mm diameter bars spaced at 150mm intervals. The columns, standing at 225mm X 225mm X 3.3m, were fortified with 16mm diameter bars and 6mm diameter stirrups spaced at 150mm, ensuring optimal load-bearing capacity. The slab, with a thickness of 125mm, was reinforced with 10mm diameter bars, providing a robust horizontal structural element.The beams, varying in size from 225mm X 300mm to 225mm X 400mm, were reinforced with bars ranging from 10mm to 16mm in diameter, ensuring they could effectively transfer loads from the slabs to the columns.
